Section 1

Definition of Terms

 

WHEREAS, there are operational terms that need to be defined, to wit:

Applicant

An individual who has expressed an intent to apply for any of the offered scholarships and has filed the necessary requirements for the specific program desired, and whose application has not yet been approved by the appropriate body or agency.

Binding Document(s)

Documents that are used to ensure that all conditions or agreements in maintaining the scholarship will be secured by the parties involved, and that any breach of the agreements made will have clearly and firmly stated consequences.

CHED Scholarships 

A group of study grant programs offered by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED); which are, the Tulong-Dunong Scholarship and the

Grantee

The individual whose application for scholarship has been duly approved and is enjoying the benefits and privileges of the scholarship applied for.

ICSF Scholarship

A scholarship funded by the International Christian Scholarship Foundation (ICSF) for college students.

In-house Scholarships

A set of scholarships that are internally granted by the school by means of discounts for students who meet the criteria for each program. These scholarships are offered across all levels.

Means of Verifications

Documents or any tangible proofs to support that an applicant meets the specific requirements of a certain scholarship grant. These documents are the scholarship requirements per se.

School, Institution or College

Refers to the Saint Tonis College, Inc.; may also bear its acronym, “STCI”.

Sponsor

 

The individual, agency, office or foundation who funds and grants the scholarship.

UNIFAST Scholarships

A group of scholarship programs funded by the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UNIFAST), which included the Tertiary Education Subsidy, andthe Student Loan Program.

Section 2

General Provisions

 

WHEREAS, as a general rule for the grant of scholarships within this institution, the following general provisions need to be exerted:

  • A grantee may only be allowed a maximum of one (1) internal scholarship and one (1) external scholarship. The Scholarship Committee will have the right and discretion to ensure that all opportunities for study grants will be equally offered to qualified and deserving students;
  • A Memorandum of Agreement will be signed by grantees following the approval of their application for any of the internal scholarships they avail. Failure to comply with the conditions stipulated in the Agreement will disqualify the grantee from availing future programs; and
  • A part of the Memorandum of Agreement will be a Return Service Agreement, with specific conditions as to how the grantee will give back to the sponsor. Like the Memorandum of Agreement, failure of the grantee to fulfill his or her duties, and any commission of a breach of agreement, will cause the grantee to return the full cost of the scholarship enjoyed, plus the interest specified in the agreement.
